Thanks to an Arts in Education Grant, Fredonia Middle and High School students will be taking part in workshops with members of the Buffalo Brass Choir during the week of April 8 to 12. This will culminate in a free concert for the general public on Saturday, April 13 at 7 p.m. in the Fredonia High School Auditorium. Tickets for this group's events usually cost $20, so this is a special treat for the community.
"I am so excited that the Buffalo Brass Choir will be performing at Fredonia High School in April," Buffalo Brass Choir Director Nick DelBello said. "I look forward to working with the talented and dedicated band students there and having select members play alongside the musicians of the Buffalo Brass Choir at the close of our concert. I know this will be a memorable experience not only for us, but for the students and greater Fredonia community. My sincere thanks to Andrew Bennett, Fredonia's band director, for making this event possible."
The Buffalo Brass Choir will be joined by soloist Jonathan Lombardo, the Principal Trombonist of the Buffalo Philharmonic, to present a concert of, "Orchestral Fireworks." The performance will also feature selected Fredonia High School percussion and brass student musicians playing with the professional ensemble on a joint selection.
