COLLINS - The town of Collins Democratic Committee will meet May 7 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Collins Public Library on Mill Street in Collins for the purpose of interviewing and selecting candidates for the local election this fall.
There are six positions on the ballot in November: Supervisor, a two-year term; two council positions, both four-year terms; Town Justice, a four-year term; Highway Superintendent, a four-year term; and Town Clerk, a four-year term. Anyone interested in running for these offices is encouraged to attend and submit a letter of interest to Robert Gaylord, 180 Buffalo St., Gowanda 14070 or Joan Byrne, 2233 Lenox Road, Collins 14034.
The committee is seeking interested individuals willing to commit to public service at its most basic governmental level, regardless or political affiliation (or non-affiliation).
In addition to interested candidates, all committee members and election inspectors, or those interested in serving in these capacities or learning more about the local political process are asked to attend the May 17 meeting.
