Fredonia Grange recognized Barbara Sam as it honored the Fredonia Farmer's Market for its service to the community over the past year. Village Trustee Susan McKay introduced Sam to Grangers and guests during the recent Grange meeting dinner noting Sam's contributions to organizing and helping the market successfully expand into a year-round market.
The summer market is a block-long succession of tents and stands selling home-grown or homemade items on Church Street in front of the Fredonia Village Hall. Vendors also contributed to the Winter Farmer's Market with Sam's leadership, held at the Forest Lodge Masonic Temple on East Main Street in Fredonia. Market hours were Saturday mornings until 1 p.m.
The Fredonia Farmer's Market provides families and community members with additional choices to obtain locally grown fresh food and artisan goods throughout the year.
