On Friday, Fredonia Place will hold its "Home-made Happiness" baking contest.
The cost of entry is $5, and all proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association.
To enter, bakers should drop off their homemade baked goods that include apples before 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13 and fill out entry forms.
Activities Director Brittany Hawkins can be contacted for more information at 679-2250 ext. 305.
Contest rules are as follows: Baked goods can be made in any form (pie, cookies, cake, etc.) but apples must be included in the recipe; this contest is for non-professional bakers and is open to the community; all entries must be homemade; contestants are responsible for submitting a written (typed, please) recipe to go along with their baked goods; and winning recipes will be published on the Fredonia Place website and Facebook page.
All baked goods will be judged on presentation, taste and creativity.
Participants will be scored 1 to 5 in each category. Judges will then decide first, second and third place winners based on the highest scores.
Judging will take place at 3 p.m. at Fredonia Place. Bakers need not be present to win.
