Arletta I. Geitner, 95, of Silver Creek, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at TLC/Lakeshore Nursing Home in Irving, N.Y.
She was born March 29, 1918 in South Dayton, N.Y., the daughter of the late Clayton and Edna (Shattuck) Newcomb.
Arletta was a graduate of South Dayton High School. She and her husband Douglas were owners of the former Geitner Theater in Silver Creek. She belonged to the First United Presbyterian Church, Silver Creek.
Survivors include three nephews, Edwin (Susan) Newcomb of Forestville, N.Y., Gene Newcomb of South Dayton, Dr. Gregory (Diane) Young of Colden, N.Y., and a niece, Mary Beth (Ron) Sweet of Hamburg, N.Y.
Besides her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband, Douglas Geitner and a brother, Lester Newcomb.
Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek, on Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 1 to 2 p.m., where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Pastor Thomas R. Burian of the First United Presbyterian Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.
