Route 5 accident injures two
BRANT - A two-car accident on Route 5 sent two individuals to the hospital Saturday morning. According to the Erie County Sheriff's Office, a vehicle driven by Lori Burgos, 50, of Lackawanna was traveling west when she lost control and entered into the eastbound lane at 9:30 a.m. Her vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Tracey Irvin, 53, of Silver Creek. Burgos was transported by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition. A passenger in the vehicle, Debbie Higgins, 58, of Derby was taken to Lakeshore Hospital for minor injuries. Irvin was uninjured. Farnham Fire Company also responded to the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office
SHERIDAN - Roy G. Lobell, 74, of Westfield was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right on Tuesday. Deputies responded to an accident on Center Road at 7:35 p.m. Lobell's vehicle allegedly was traveling south and left the roadway coming to rest on its side in a ditch. Lobell was found to be allegedly intoxicated but was uninjured. He will appear in Sheridan Town Court at a later date.
HANOVER - Mary M. Przybyl, 57, of Angola was charged with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child on Friday. At 8 p.m. deputies responded to a resident on Beebe Road. Przybyl allegedly grabbed another individual and pulled her to the ground while the individual was holding a 1-year-old child and another young child was a witness. Przybyl was arraigned in Hanover Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
