COLLINS CENTER - Marilyn L. Elvers, 84, of Main Street passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY.
She was born August 17, 1929 in Gowanda, NY the daughter of the late John and Frances Parish.
She was married to Warren Elvers Sr. who predeceased her on November 25, 2006.
Mrs. Elvers had worked as a medical transcriptionist for Gowanda Psychiatric Center for 35 years and at Tri-County Memorial Hospital for 7 years.
She was a active member Trinity UCC Church in Gowanda, NY and a member of the Collins Center Senior Citizens and a past member of the Collins Center Vol. Fireman's Auxillary and loved to cook and bake.
She is survived by four sons, Warren (Jeanne) Elvers Jr. of Getzville, NY, Patrick Elvers of Springville, NY, Todd (Veronica) Elvers of Clyde, NY and Bradley Elvers of Collins Center, NY; a stepdaughter, Margaret Sheldon of Cherry Creek, NY; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, John Parish of Blasdell, NY; a sister, Thelma McCluskey of Eden, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by two brothers, Howard and Roy Parish and a sister Bernice.
Friends may call on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 1-3 p.m. at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 E. Main St. in Gowanda, NY.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. from the funeral home.
Burial will be in Jolls Cemetery in Perrysburg, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity UCC Church in Gowanda, NY.
