Fredonia State sophomore Collin Mulcahy has been chosen Men's Track Athlete of the Week by the State University of New York Athletic Conference.
Mulcahy ran a 4:13.25 mile Saturday at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational in Boston, Mass., on the 300-meter oval inside the Reggie Lewis Center. Mulcahy's time is currently the seventh-fastest mile in NCAA Division III this winter.
He also ran a leg on the Blue Devils' Distance Medley Relay which posted a time of 10:13.98, second-fastest in program history.
Mulcahy is the first Fredonia State track and field athlete, male or female, to receive a weekly SUNYAC award this winter.
Prior to receiving recognition from the conference, Mulcahy was chosen as one of two Fredonia State Student-Athletes of the Week. Women's basketball player Jaimie Warren is the other.
