Raymond F. "Sam" Weber, 105, of Silver Creek passed away Friday evening, Jan. 17, 2014, at St. Columban's on the Lake Retirement Home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1908 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Edward and Mary (Manista) Weber.
A proud veteran, Ray joined the New York National Guard in 1928 and then, at the age of 36, joined the U.S. Army in 1944 during World War II.
Ray worked as a butcher for A&P Grocery Store in Buffalo. He enjoyed the last 10 years of his life surrounded with love, care and friendship by the entire staff and residents at St. Columban's on the Lake.
Survivors include his son, David (Rita) Weber of Ruidoso, N.M.; six grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass which will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at 3 p.m. at St. Columban's on the Lake, 2546 Lake Road, Silver Creek, NY 14136. The Chautauqua County American Legion will provide full military honors. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Columban's on the Lake.
