Charlotte Anne Burgstrom, 87, of Fredonia died Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 5, 2014) at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Dec. 4, 1926 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Addison and Lucy (Bennett) Sprague.
Mrs. Burgstrom had been employed as a nurse at Brooks Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1978.

She enjoyed square dancing with the Lakeshore Squares, wintering in Lakeland, Fla., and attending musical events. An avid reader and animal lover, she was a member of the Dunkirk Moose Lodge 89 and a supporter of the 1891 Fredonia Opera House.
Survivors include three daughters, Darrell (John) Parker of North Hero, Vt., Marlene (Richard) Rzepkowski of Rochester, NY and Deanna (Michael) Kelley of Fredonia; six grandchildren, Jason Parker, Megan Parker, Kristinn (Patricia) Rzepkowski, Lindsey (Michael) Short, Dea (Dylan) Minnick and Mitchell Kelley; five great grandchildren; and one niece.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pershing Burgstrom; and one sister, Doris House.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorials may be made to the Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 East Chestnut St., Dunkirk, NY 14048. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
