This letter is to say thank you and goodbye to one of the most wonderful, professional, caring doctors our community has ever had.
Sawarngwong Wirojratana, P.C., gynecologist and obstetrician, whose office is at Swan Street in Dunkirk and who had privileges at Brooks Memorial Hospital, retired last month. Dr. Wirojratana brought my two children into this world (along with another local doctor, also greatly revered and esteemed, pediatrician Rajiv Parikh, M.D.), and I remain forever grateful to him.
I'm sure I speak on behalf of many, many women, and parents, when I say that we were blessed to be under his expert care, not only as patients of gynecology, but especially in the delivery room and operating room. I remember my daughter's birth in particular, where over a period of 30 hours of labor, Dr. Wirojratana not only attended to me, but delivered several other babies, only to perform an emergency c-section for myself and my daughter's father.
Such dedication and stamina are unparalleled, I'm sure. His kind and gentle chair-side manner, along with his adorable sense of humor and broken English remain a delightful memory for me that I will always cherish.
Thank you, bless you, and keep you Dr. Wirojratana! You will be greatly missed.
BECKY (SNYDER) SAMUELSON,
