1st Annual DLBA Golf Tournament is set

The 1st Annual Dunkirk Lakeshore Bowling Association Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12, at Rose Brook Golf Course, Beebe Road, Silver Creek. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and a shotgun start will begin at 11 a.m. This four-person scramble will award prizes in the men, women and mixed divisions. The cost is $75/person, $300/team. This entry fee includes golf, cart, on-course contests, lunch at the turn and appetizers after golf. Chinese auctions and other drawings will add to the fun! Anyone interested may contact PJ Azzarella at 785-1265 to make a reservation. Checks may be made out to “DLBA” and mailed to PJ Azzarella, 2369 Agassiz Drive, Lakeview, NY 14085 in advance. Space is limited to 100 golfers, so make your reservation today!!!

If you are interested in donating Chinese auction baskets or any other prizes for on-course contests, please contact PJ Azzarella directly at 716-785-1265. All proceeds go to the DLBA general and scholarship fund.

Dunkirk Fastpitch softball tournament set

The 42nd annual Dunkirk Fastpitch Softball tournament, sponsored by the First Ward Falcons, will begin Friday, July 14 at 5:45 p.m. and runs until Sunday, July 16. Championship game is set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Games will be at Promenschenkel Stadium and at No. 7 School. Food and concession stands will be available all weekend long.

Chautauqua Institution run/walk

RUN/WALK 2.7 miles at beautiful Chautauqua Institution. Saturday, July 29, 8 a.m., $25 donation includes a magnificent T-shirt, age group awards (10 year brackets). Proceeds benefit Chautauqua Fund. Admission to Chautauqua Institution free for the race.

Fredonia Youth Cheerleading Camp

Children ages 5-15 are invited to attend the cheerleading clinic Monday, Aug. 14 and Tuesday, Aug. 15 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The camp is designed to help the Fredonia University Cheerleaders raise money for Nationals, which is held in Disney World.

The cost is $30 per participant. The clinic will include 1) Learning how to cheer and dance to perform at a boys soccer game. 2) Free bow and T-shirt to wear to the game and second practice. 3) Fun games, stunting and team building exercises. 4) Personal attention from the Fredonia Cheerleaders.

2017 Gary Tripp Memorial Golf Tournament

The 2017 tournament is set for Saturday, September 9, at Hillview/Vineyards golf courses in Fredonia. There will be prizes and/or games at each hole.

The registration fee of $65 per golfer includes food on the courses and dinner at the Kosciuszko Club.

Times for GTMGT being with registration at 9 a.m., shotgun start at 10 a.m. and dinner and awards at 4 p.m.

The deadline to sign up foursomes is Friday, September 1. Contact Katie or Pat at 366-1044.

Money raised from the past tournaments have been used to establish an annual Gary Tripp colorectal cancer research fund at Roswell Park, an annual GTMGT Dunkirk High School scholarship and an annual donation to the GTMGT SUNY Fredonia scholarship.
