Ahlstrom, Dunkirk beat Maple Grove

BEMUS POINT — The Dunkirk Marauders got a dominant performance out of Peyton Ahlstrom en route to a 5-1 win over Maple Grove on Thursday in a CCAA Division 1 West high school baseball game at Maple Grove high school.
Ahlstrom pitched a complete game for Dunkirk, striking out 12 batters while allowing only four hits and one walk.
“Peyton Ahlstrom, from start to finish, was in total control,” said Dunkirk coach Frank Jagoda.
The Dunkirk offense came alive with a four run second inning, highlighted by a two-run double by Jaziah Rivera. The Marauders added another run in the fifth inning on a squeeze bunt by Zach Romanik.
Dunkirk is in action again tonight, with another league game, against Falconer. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.
