Lady Hillbillies lose on the golf course
BUFFALO — The Fredonia girls’ golf team got a match in Monday, dropping the contest by a score of 36-19 to Nichols School at the Country Club of Buffalo.
Nichols’ Jeanne Gandon was the match’s medalist, shooting a 49 at a very tough course.
Fredonia’s top golfer was Ashley Holt who shot a 54. The Hillbillies also got a good day out of Hannah Christy who shot a 59.
“Hannah is starting to get her swing down,” said head coach Alex Conti. “Might be a little late but we’re trying to get her into sectionals.”
Fredonia’s remaining scores rounded out with Claire Marshall (64), Caroline Cameron (65), and Jillian Valvo (65).
“This is a really difficult course to play,” said Conti. “It was such a nice day and it is such a beautiful course–everybody in Western New York knows how lucky they are if they get a chance to play here.”
Fredonia has a busy schedule ahead as they’ll be at home today and then visit Ellicotville on Wednesday.
