SALAMANCA — Dunkirk High School’s girls tennis team swept the singles matches Tuesday in the team’s season opener at Salamanca, coming home with a 4-1 win.

The Lady Marauders were dominate, as they only dropped one set to Salamanca. The most exciting match was between Hannah Saye of Dunkirk and Haley Pond of Salamanca. According to coach Allie Saye, “Hannah got off to a shaky start in the 1st set, falling behind by 5-1 at one point. But all of a sudden it started to click, and she made a great comeback effort ultimately bringing home the win.”

Salamanca’s only win would come in a close doubles match as Hannah Klusek and Maegan Collins edged out Cameron Harper and Whitney Hice of Dunkirk by a score of 6-4 in both sets.
