Pine Valley soccer beats Jamestown

OBSERVER Staff Report

JAMESTOWN — The Pine Valley Panthers came away with a big road win, 2-1 over Jamestown High School, on Saturday in non-league high school boys soccer.

Pine Valley (4-0) jumped ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 25th minute from Dawson Chase. Ryan Snyder added the second goal of the game in the 32nd minute, on an assist from Chase.

Jamestown scored with six minutes remaining in the game, but Pine Valley held on for the win.

Pine Valley goalkeeper Makiah Snyder had 17 saves in the win. Pine Valley coach Dave Pihlblad said he was “outstanding.”

Pihlblad called the game “an awesome test for us going into our league schedule next week.”

The Panthers travel to Westfield to take on the Wolverines on Tuesday.

“That will be a good test for us,” said Pihlblad.
