Devils soccer shut out
Special to The OBSERVER
BUFFALO — Just one goal decided the match in Buffalo State on Saturday as the Devils lost 1-0.
The lone goal was scored by Buffalo State’s Hannah Gallivan in the 62nd minute off a corner kick. Kyndal Hetzel and Kelli O’Donnell were awarded with the assists from the deflected goal.
Abbey Monahan started in net for the Devils and managed to stop nine shots from the Bengals.
Shots for Fredonia were hard to come by. Sophie Richiusa and Danielle Spring both managed shots on goal for Fredonia that found the arms of Buffalo State keeper Emma Krenzer late in the second half.
Fredonia’s record now stands at 6-7 and 3-2 in conference. They will now look forward to a home nonconference game on Tuesday as they’ll kick off against St. John Fisher at 7 p.m.
