Rey leads Hillbillies at Fredonia State

Fredonia’s Diego Rey just couldn’t let the year of 2018 end without another win under his belt.

Rey finished first in the 1,000m with a time of 2:43.39 during Fredonia’s indoor track meet at Fredonia State on Saturday.

In addition to Rey, Fredonia’s Emily Brown took home a pair of podium finishes, placing second in the 1,500m in 5:06.49 and third in the 300m in 46.06. Hessen Bahgat also finished third for Fredonia, in the pole vault with 11-feet-6-inches.

Other notable finishes for Fredonia in the top ten for the boys were Andrew Camp’s sixth place finish in the high jump with a personal best of 5-feet, Kevin Redfield’s 10th place finish in the 600m in 1:40.56, and a pair of top 10 finishes by Andrew Kennedy, who took sixth in the 300m in 42.89 and eighth in the 55m in 7.32.

A pair of Fredonia girls each placed in the top 10 of multiple events, as well. Ashlyn Ambrose finished sixth in the 1,500m in 5:50.41 and eighth in the 1,000m in 3:29.9. Kelly Lucas also finished eighth in the 600m with a personal best time of 1:55.64, as well as a 10th place finish in the high jump with 4-feet-2-inches.
