Gowanda falls short on the mats, 36-31

GOWANDA — The Gowanda wrestling team hosted Franklinville in a non-league match on Tuesday night, falling to the Panthers in a tight match, 36-31.

Gowanda gave a good showing overall, winning six of the eight matches that weren’t decided by forfeit.

Ethan Fort and Dominic Rodriguez got the match started early each winning their contests. After Ryan Gernatt took a tough loss at 170, Michael Horth and Maddox Browning picked up wins to finish the match for Gowanda.

Gowanda is back in action tonight when they travel to Falconer.
