Meet the Chautauqua Hurricane team today

The Chautauqua Hurricane will be hosting a meet the players event today at The Salvation Army in Dunkirk. Fans will be offered a homemade meal, while fans can participate in free throw and 3-point contests with prizes available to the winners. There will also be a bake sale. Dunkirk baseball to host Comedy Night March 9

The Dunkirk baseball team will be holding their annual Comedy Night on Saturday, March 9 at The Clarion Hotel at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. There will be a cash bar and a light menu available. Catt. County Hall of Fame names Class of 2019

The 17th Annual Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 30 at the Cattaraugus Firemen’s Club beginning at 6 p.m.

The HOF has selected 13 new members to be inducted this year that include: James Wojdan, (Cattaraugus-Little Valley), Peter Spear, (Franklinville), Kathy Woznek, (Olean), Doug Seamans, (Randolph), Scott Crist, (Salamanca), Tim Geiger, (Gowanda), Steve Skvarka, (Allegany-Limestone), Mike Loftus, (Ellicottville), Mary Doud, (Pioneer), Mike Williams, Jr., (West Valley), Lynford “Wimpy” Swetland, (Portville), Ken Roberts, (Hinsdale) and Marty Brisky (Cattaraugus County game official).

Tickets for the banquet and induction ceremony are $25 and can be reserved be emailing hidibenton@aol.com or call banquet chairman Mark Benton at 532-4053. The deadline for reservations is March 22.
