Lake Shore girls win 13th straight

ANGOLA — The Lake Shore girls basketball team honored their seniors with their 13th straight victory, beating Depew, 60-24 in ECIC Div. 3 league action on Thursday at Lake Shore High School.

Shawni Cornfield set a new school record for points with 1,254, topping current Fredonia State women’s basketball player Rae White, after scoring 13 points while also adding 11 rebounds. Lani Cornfield scored 12 points and Celina Park scored 14 to help the cause.

Lake Shore honored their seniors including Beretta Santana, Karleigh Easton, Celina Park, Asah White, Maggie Jimerson and Dalli Plain.

“It was a nice night to recognize our seniors,” said Lake Shore head coach Danielle Arnone. “Everyone continued to play great as a team tonight.”

Lake Shore (15-1, 11-0) will face Frontier tonight.
