The Relief Zone held third annual 3-on-3 basketball tourney
FREWSBURG — The Relief Zone (TRZ) held its third annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament Sunday, Feb. 10 at the Frewsburg High School and elementary school gymnasiums. The fundraiser helped raise over $4,000 for the local not for profit. There were 176 students that participated for a total of 44 teams. The tournament was organized to benefit The Relief Zone, Inc.
“The charity event helps us sustain and grow our school-aged programming and year-round activities,” said Lisa Lyon, The Relief Zone executive director. “What’s better than playing a friendly, spirited game of basketball while supporting a great cause? On behalf of The Relief Zone I want to extend my thanks to our fundraising committee and event volunteers who worked tirelessly to host this day-long tournament as well as the Frewsburg Central School District, Jamestown Kitchen and Bath and the Frewsburger Pizza Shop who made this tournament possible. Thank you also to the parents and spectators that supported the event.”
Their first annual 10K sanctioned race is Saturday, April 6 at 9 a.m. at the Firemen’s Grounds in Frewsburg. To learn more about TRZ visit thereliefzone.org
