Blanks shoots the lights out in Hurricane’s 138-76 win

OBSERVER Staff Report

BUFFALO — Saturday’s Chautauqua Hurricane game featured one of the best individual performances in the NABL this season. David Blanks of the Hurricane drilled 14 3-pointers in a 45 point effort to lead the Hurricane to a 138-76 win over the Buffalo Bluehawks on Saturday night.

It was a back and forth first quarter, according to Chautauqua Hurricane head coach Ticoh Dallo, but the team “made the proper adjustments” to come away with the win.

Blanks, who also had nine rebounds and four assists, set the league’s high mark on the season with 14 shots from beyond the arc.

Next up for the Hurricane is a showdown with the Lancaster Thunder on Saturday at Brocton High School. With a win, the Hurricane would be in first place in the league. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
