Tutmaher earns League High Gun honors

May 14 marked the end of all match competition in the Southern Tier Scholastic Youth Trap League with awards and fun day being held at the Busti Trap Club on May 21. There were no perfect scores reported in the final week. A total of twenty five teams competed across four counties, including Pennsylvania.

The May 14 scores were:

Brocton 130, Westfield 149, Chautauqua Lake 147, Falconer 147, Southwestern 177, at the Busti Trap Club.

Cassadaga Valley 166, Maple Grove 157, Panama 138, Clymer 111, Sherman 159, at the Celoron Rod & Gun.

Frewsburg 171 at the Carroll Rod & Gun.

The West Conference High Gun Male was Chautauqua Lake’s Matt Tutmaher, 141, who won the title in a shootoff against Southwestern’s Steve Raymond, who also ended the season with a 141.

The West Conference High Gun Female was Sherman’s Kayla Yockum with a 129.

Frewsburg finished in first place with a team score of 1,042. Dylan Pearson was the High Gun male with 138 and Jessica Rettger was the High Gun female with 109. Cassadaga Valley earned third place with a team score of 999. High Gun male was Beau Blanchard with 131, and High Gun female was Brook Jaquish with 72. Chautauqua Lake finished in fourth place with a score of 923. Matthew Tutmaher was High Gun male with 141, and Sierra Matthews was High Gun female with 100. Westfield finished in eighth place with a score of 803. Brayden Kneer was High Gun male with 129, and Mikala Latimore was High Gun female with 114. Brocton was tenth place with 720. Connor Dispense earned High Gun male with 117, and Kaitlyn Matonic earned High Gun female with 94.
