Dunkirk Lakeshore Association holds bowling tournament

The 45th annual awards banquet for the Dunkirk Lakeshore Association youth bowlers tournament was recently held at the Kosciuszko Club in Dunkirk. The association is comprised of youth bowlers, ages 4-20, from Lucky Lanes in Fredonia K & L Lanes in Gowanda and Hanover Lanes in Silver Creek.

This year’s tournament was hosted by at Lucky Lanes. Director of Youth Operations for the Dunkirk Lakeshore USBC Association, Greg Haase, served as emcee, while Lucky Lanes proprietor Paul Nocek, presented the trophies and awards to the bowlers.

Team winners in the tournament were: Class A scratch: Fredonia’s Finest 2,379 — Sam Kawski, Zack Kawski, Trace MacKenzie and Bryson Pacos. Class A handicap: Siblings 2,909 — Nate Barlette-Dye, Emily Barlette-Dye, Zacharry Barlette-Dye and Brandon Erick. Class B scratch and handicap: Hanover Boys 1,279-2,530, Noah Berdyck, Philip Sikorski, Nick Santiago and Daniel Paterson. Class C scratch and handicap: Hanover Girls 1,404-2,739 — Alicia Campos, Alexis Alguire, Megan Gruber and Briana Kenjockety.

Doubles handicap winners were: Class A scratch — Jaxson Pencek and Jacob Marsh 1,105. Class A handicap — Brendan Weinaug and David Goodemote 1,331. Class B scratch — Jack Frost III and Matt Agle 875. Class B handicap — Colin Luce and Jordan Kelly 1,396. Class C scratch — Alexis Alguire and Megan Gruber 665. Class C handicap — Gavin Whitcher and Jarek Howard 1,378.

Girls singles event winners included: Class A scratch and handicap — Brooke Jesionowksi 575-746. Class B scratch and handicap — Briana Kenjockety 421-733. Boys singles: Class A scratch — Jordan Krystofiak 667. Class A handicap — David Goodemote 757. Class B scratch and handicap — Jack Frost III 536-788. Class C scratch — Brady Helmer 397 and Class C handicap — Gavin Whitcher 768.

Winners of all events for the girls: Class A scratch and handicap — Tristan Olsen 1,464-1,587. Class B scratch and handicap — Megan Gruber 1,101-1,368. Class C scratch and handicap — Briana Kenjockety 1,219-1,501. Boys all events: Class A scratch and handicap — Jordan Krystofiak 1,855-1,894. Class B scratch and handicap — Brendan Weinaug 1,403-2,051; Class C scratch and handicap — Gavin Whitcher 1,060-1,410.

High scores of the tournament for girls went to Brooke Jesionowski for high scratch and handicap games with a 223-280. Jesionowski also had the girls high scratch and handicap series of 575-746. The high scores for the boys were Trace MacKenzie with the high scratch game of 266 and Jordan Kelly for high handicap game of 303. Mackenzie had the high scratch and handicap series of 689-776.

The high averages for 2018-2019 season of the Dunkirk Lakeshore USBC Youth bowlers were also awarded. High average for the bantam division (ages 6-8) were Elizabeth Case (82.47) and Jordan Kelly (109.36). Prep division (ages 9-11) high averages were Hayden Cerrie (109.72) and Nathan Manzella (151.42). Junior (ages 12-15) division high averages were Rachel Glowniak (187.47) and Danny Marrocco (172.38). High averages for the major (ages 16-20) division were Mariah Glowniak (167.30) and Bryson Pacos (198.57).
