Westfield-Mayville Rotary sets golf skills contest for June 14

Special to The OBSERVER

WESTFIELD – Chip and putt for cash prizes, sip a craft beer, and enjoy a barbecue buffet at the Rotary Club of Westfield-Mayville’s ‘Chips, Putts, and Pints’ event on Friday, June 14, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Pinehurst Golf Club in Westfield. This ‘evening of skillhilarity’ for adults is bound to include lots of laughs and some big brags as the competition heats up during the chipping and putting contests. Net proceeds will benefit this Rotary club’s service projects.

This fun event, which is limited to 80 entrants (ages 21 and up), includes a men’s and women’s division. Points will be awarded in a similar format as (drive), chip, and putt contests. Those with the best three scores win! First, second, and third place cash prizes of $100, $75, and $50 will be awarded, respectively. Participants may bring their own pitching wedges and putters, or borrow some from the generous folks at Pinehurst Golf Club, a platinum sponsor of this event.

Tickets are $35 per single or $60 per couple. Admission includes the contest entry, barbecue beef buffet, a craft beer, and friendly competition for bragging rights. Tickets, which are on sale now, are available at Pinehurst Golf Club or may be obtained by contacting Mary Swanson, event chair, at 969-0143 or nopalery75@gmail.com

Adult golf enthusiasts of all skill levels are invited to “putt” this fun June 14 event on their calendars and soon register. Remember, when the chips are down, you may be a winner! Chip in to support the Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club and its various service projects.
