Over the weekend, the Section VI boys and girls soccer playoff brackets were revealed. As the playoffs begin this week, multiple teams have earned home playoff games, beginning Tuesday for the boys and Wednesday for the girls. Here is a look at how the Sectional brackets represent our local teams.

In the boys soccer brackets, pre-quarterfinal playoff games begin on Tuesday. Four local teams will play on Tuesday, including three on the road. In Class B1, Dunkirk was assigned the 13-seed, the lowest in Section VI. The Marauders will play on the road at City Honors on Tuesday afternoon. In Class B2, the Falconer/Cassadaga Valley Golden Cougars were given the 11-seed and will play at 3:30 p.m. on the road against 6-seed Newfane.

Also in Class B2, Tuesday night features the first home game of the local playoff teams, when the Fredonia Hillbillies play one more game under the Fredonia State lights. Fredonia, the 5-seed in Class B2, hosts 12-seed Olmsted at 7 p.m. in the pre-quarterfinal stage. The winner will face the winner of 4-seed Eden and 13-seed Salamanca on Thursday. In Class C, Silver Creek/Forestville earned the 10-seed out of 11 teams in Class C. The Black Knights travel to 7-seed Ellicottville on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

Also in Class C, two local teams were awarded first round byes into the quarterfinals. The undefeated Westfield/Brocton Wolverines earned the No. 1 seed in Class C, clinching a home quarterfinal game. The Wolverines will host the winner of 8-seed Frewsburg and 9-seed Portville, on Thursday at the NorthLake Soccer Complex in Westfield.

Chautauqua Lake, the 5-seed, also received a bye to the quarterfinals. Chautauqua Lake will travel to face 4-seed Maple Grove on Thursday at 3:30 p.m., where the winner will face the winner of Westfield/Brocton’s quarterfinal matchup. The Wolverines defeated both Chautauqua Lake and Maple Grove twice during the regular season, though Westfield/Brocton’s toughest challenge during its perfect season was Maple Grove.

In Class D, Pine Valley plays North Collins on Friday at 5 p.m. at Eden High School. The winner will play 1-seed Riverside in the Section VI, Class D title game.

In the girls soccer brackets, pre-quarterfinal games begin on Wednesday, featuring six local teams. In Class B1, Dunkirk (0-16, 11-seed) hopes for its first win of the season on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at 6-seed Tonawanda. In Class B2, Fredonia is the 9-seed and travels to 8-seed Eden at 6 p.m., with the winner facing 1-seed Allegany-Limestone on Friday afternoon. 7-seed Falconer/Cassadaga Valley will host 10-seed JFK at 6 p.m. at Falconer High School. 11-seed Pine Valley will travel to 6-seed Wilson at 3:30 p.m.

In Class C, Silver Creek/Forestville earned the 6-seed and will host 11-seed Franklinville on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Silver Creek. The winner will travel to Westfield to take on the 3-seed, the Westfield/Brocton Lady Wolverines, at 3:30 p.m. at the NorthLake Soccer Complex. Silver Creek/Forestville ended the Lady Wolverines’ hopes of a perfect season with a 2-1 win at Brocton High School earlier this year, while the Lady Wolverines won in Silver Creek earlier in the year, 3-1. Also in Class C, Chautauqua Lake earned the 9-seed and travels to 8-seed Maple Grove on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

In Class D, North Collins qualified for the Far West Regional as Section VI’s representative without an opponent in the Sectional playoffs.
