Black Knights beat Marauders

OBSERVER Staff Reports

SILVER CREEK — Dom Jamison continued his red hot start to the season, leading the Silver Creek Black Knights to an 85-50 victory over the Dunkirk Marauders on Friday night in Silver Creek.

Jamison made it rain in the first half, scoring 24 points before half time, and 25 on the game as the Black Knights were able to stake a 52-27 halftime lead, with Jamison leading the charge and his team hitting seven threes in the half.

“We played pretty well all around,” said Silver Creek coach Ralph Jackson. “Our defense played strong which let our offense get out and run in transition.

Jamison sat for the last few minutes of the third, and the entirety of the fourth with his team up by so much, and while he was playing in the second quarter, he “was looking for other guys,” according to coach Jackson.

Outside of Jamison’s 25 points and six rebounds, Silver Creek had 16 points from Andre Rosario, 11 from Darren Jimenez, and nine from Spencer Harford, while Jeremy Wilcox added seven rebounds. Earl Stewart led the way for Dunkirk with 19 points.

The Black Knights (2-2) will play their make up game on Monday, Dec. 16 at Ellicottville, while Dunkirk (1-3) is next in action on Thursday, Dec. 19 when Depew will visit the Marauders.

Panama 58, Chautauqua Lake 55

MAYVILLE — Panama found itself locked in another close battle with nonleague Chautauqua Lake after picking up a win over the Thunderbirds on Wednesday.

Once again the Panthers (4-0) were able to get things done late at the foul line, posting a 58-55 win behind a 24-point, 16-rebound, six-block, four-assist night by Cameron Barmore.

“We started out pretty strong, 15-9 in the first quarter,” Chautauqua Lake coach Alex Reyda said. “We did not start out strong on Wednesday so we were happy with that. Our two middle quarters were not as good and then we came back pretty strong at the end but it was not enough late.”

Connor Cooper added 13 points in the win; Gerrit Hinsdale had eight points, 12 rebounds and four assists.

Luke Waters led the Thunderbirds (1-4) with 19 points, four assists and three steals; Noah Adams had 11 points, three assists and three steals; Michael Anderson six points and six rebounds; and Nate Engdahl added nine points, five rebounds and five assists.
