Hillbillies lap the Marauders in Dunkirk for big win, 116-48

The Fredonia Hillbillies boys swim team took down the Dunkirk Marauders in the pool on Thursday night, 116-48.

The Hillbillies were led by Nick Wittmeyer and Matthew Brockelbank, both ‘Billies were quadruple winners — winning two individual events and were apart of two relay teams.

Wittmeyer won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:19.40 and the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.27. and was apart of both the winning 200 yard medley relay and the 400 yard freestyle relay.

Brockelbank individually won the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:24.46 and the 100 yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:11.21. Brockelbank was apart of the winning 200 yard medley relay and the 400 yard freestyle relay, also.

Jonas Jones swam the best meet of his career as he won the 200 yard freestyle for his first varsity win in a time of 2:23.78, just narrowly beating out teammate Brad LaGrow who came in at 2:23.81.

Finn Frerich and Ronan Murphy were triple winners for Fredonia. Frerich won the 100 yard freestyle and two relays, while Murphy won the 100 yard butterfly and two relays.

The Hillbillies are back in the pool on Tuesday when they head to Panama.
