Randolph tops Gowanda 52-41

GOWANDA — Seventh-grader Payton Morrison scored a career-high 20 points to lead Randolph to a 52-41 CCAA Division 1 East win over Gowanda on Wednesday.

The Cardinals (5-5, 1-1) led 12-11 after the first quarter before Morrison scored 9 points during a 12-5 second quarter to give the visitors some breathing room.

Morrison hit five 3-pointers and handed out three assists in the game. Sydney Hvizdzak added 14 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and two steals while Tyra Clark had 10 points, 15 rebounds and three steals for Randolph.

Miya Scanlan led the Panthers (2-6, 1-2) with 22 points — 16 in the second half — while Carissa Scanlan added 13 points.
