Fredonia girls compete at horse show in Ohio

Ashley and Alana Holt of Fredonia competed in the Inter-County Horsemen’s Association Horse Show in Canfield, Ohio on June 6-7.

In a field of over 200 horses both Ashley and Alana competed in the English Equestrian Division.

Alana and her Arabian mare Maddie had an outstanding showing in their first competition of the show season. On Saturday, Alana took first place in both the Hunt Seat Equitation 17 & under class and the Registered Arabian Hunter Pleasure class. She also received second place in the Jr. Exhibitor Hunt Seat Pleasure 17 & under class.

On Sunday, Alana and Maddie earned Grand Champions in the Registered Arabian Hunter Pleasure Championship Division. They finished their day by capturing the Reserve Champion title in the Overall Pleasure Championship 17 & under Division.

Ashley competed in her first-ever horse show with her Arabian gelding Pipper who she has owned and trained with for only three months. The first time in a competition ring together, they won the blue ribbon in the Adult Hunt Seat Equitation 18 & over class. They also showed well later in the day earning a fifth-place finish in the Registered Arabian Hunter Pleasure class.
