Frewsburg wraps up Central Division crown

FREWSBURG — An early goal in each half helped Frewsburg lock up the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Central Division title with a 2-0 win over Westfield/Brocton on Thursday afternoon.

Alexandra Hultberg opened the scoring in the 10th minute for the Bears (11-0-0, 8-0-0). Her 12th goal of the season was assisted by Kendal Sohl.

After halftime, Kaydan Bush scored her fifth goal of the season from Sam Annis.

Madison Voty made six saves in net for her fifth shutut of the year.

Westfield/Brocton fell to 5-3-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the league.

HUSKIES EDGE FREDONIA

FREDONIA — Olivia Kratt scored from Alexis Gibbons in the 15th minute of overtime to lift Olean to a 2-1 West Division victory over Fredonia.

Gibbons gave Olean a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute.

Annie Gondek tied the game for the Hillbillies (5-3-2, 5-3-2) in the 58th minute from Sophia Gullo.

Micheyla Williams made five saves in net for the Huskies (7-1-1, 7-1-1) and Kinnan Finnegan made 11 saves for Fredonia.

ELLICOTTVILLE COASTS

FRANKLINVILLE — Alysa Williams netted a hat trick as Ellicottville topped Franklinville, 9-1, in East Division play.

Brooke Butler opened the scoring with an unassisted goal before Jocelyn Wyatt scored from Logan Fredrickson. Mandy Hurlburt followed with a tally from Emliee Ruiz before Williams scored her first of the game from Fredrickson. Hurlburt closed the first-half scoring with a goal from Harley Ficek.

After halftime, Emily Bigler broke up the shutout with an unassisted goal for Franklinville (3-6-0, 3-5-0). Ruiz then scored an unassisted goal for the Eagles before Williams scored from Hurlburt. Williams then completed her hat trick in the 59th minute before Courtney Sexton closed the scoring from Hurlburt.

Jenna Hadley made two saves in net for Ellicottville (11-0-0, 9-0-0).

GATORS BLANK GOLDEN COUGARS

ALLEGANY — Olivia Paterniti scored a goal in each half to lead Allegany-Limestone to a 2-0 shutout of Falconer/Cassadaga Valley in the West Division.

Paterniti scored from Kristen McMullen in the sixth minute and again from Jillian Walsh in the 73rd minute.

Kelsey Riordan made four saves in net for the Gators (3-6-2, 3-5-2).

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley fell to 5-6-0 overall and 5-4-0 in the league.

TROJANS BLANK JAMESTOWN

Allison Lundmark had a goal and an assist to lead Southwestern to a 2-0 win over Jamestown in West Division action at Strider Field.

Lundmark scored from Cora Casselman in the fifth minute and then assisted on Brynne Conley’s goal in the 50th minute.

Reece Beaver made two saves for the Trojans (8-4-0, 8-2-0).

The Red Raiders fell to 0-7-2 overall and 0-6-2 in the league.

T’BIRDS EDGE NORTH COLLINS

MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Lake was a 2-1 winner over North Collins in Central Division play. Call Zarpentine grabbed both goals for the Thunderbirds, with Sienna Collins earning an assist on the first tally of the day.

Lina Young broke the shutout for North Collins (0-10-0, 0-10-0).

Michaela Rice had eight saves in the loss and Hailey Roush stopped three shots for Chautauqua Lake (5-2-1, 5-2-1).
