Maple Grove knocks off North Collins, 6-4

Maple Grove raised its record to 7-0-1 following a 6-4 Central Division victory over North Collins.

Nick Golando scored two goals, including one via penalty kick, and Tristan Spillane, Alex MacCallum, Eli Moore and Sam Eimiller added one apiece in support of keepers Georgio Akl and Nate Cresanti, who combined for five saves.

RJ Helt and Elias Akl added assists for the winners.

Alex Teijeira and Carson Teijeira both had two goals for North Collins. One of Carson Teijeira’s tallies came via penalty kick.

SOUTH DAYTON — Bryson Rozler picked up his fourth goal of the season on a breakaway pass by Ethan Shields in the 65th minute of Wednesday’s CCAA East Division match against Pine Valley/Gowanda (0-7, 0-5), lifting Randolph (3-3-1, 3-3-1) to a 2-1 win.

Shields converted on a direct kick in the 16th minute to give the Cardinals the lead, but Pine Valley/Gowanda battled back in the 36th minute when David Hunt converted on a pass by Matt Hostetter.

Kyle Smallback made three saves in the win and Ty Wilkins stopped six saves for the hosts.

EAGLES POSTS SHUTOUT

ELLICOTTVILLE — Ellicottville (7-2-1, 5-0-1) was an 8-0 winner over Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley (0-5, 0-4) in CCAA East play.

Bryce Butler led the way with two goals and four assists; Clayton Rowland had two goals and an assist; while single tallies came from Mitchell Azcarate, Justin Imhoff, Isaac Alexander and Jamison Caldwell.

Sam Edwards also chipped in an assist.

T’BIRDS EDGE BEARS

FREWSBURG — Chautauqua Lake improved to 4-2 on the year in CCAA Central Division play with a 1-0 win over Frewsburg.

Carson D’Anthony notched the winning goal in the 55th minute, while Tate Olson made six saves in the win for the Thunderbirds.
