Randolph hands Panama its first volleyball loss

RANDOLPH — Randolph (3-2, 3-1) girls volleyball had plenty of reasons to celebreate on Friday night after handing Panama (4-1, 4-1) its first loss of the season, 25-21, 25-18, 25-22,in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association East Division play.

Eve Adams led the winners with 10 kills, six assists and three aces; Sydney had 19 kills and two aces; Alyssa Adams 17 kills, three assists and one block; while Ella Conley added 31 assists to pace the winners.

“My defense was there, they were consistent and they did a nice job tonight,” said Randolph head coach Bayley Johnson, who is in her first season at the helm for the Cardinals.

“I would say that tonight our defense definitely clicked. I made some adjustments, playing Eve Adams as an outside hitter, she did a great job there.”

Panama was led by Maddie Johnson with 19 assists, four digs, 11 points and three aces; Jo Bailey had eight kills, one dig, six points and two aces; while Sarah Harvey had five kills, one dig, six points and two aces.

Randolph also won the jayvee game.

THURSDAY

CASSADAGA VALLEY WINS AT HOME

SINCLAIRVILLE — Cassadaga Valley (2-2, 2-2) was a 25-21, 25-17, 25-14 winner over Silver Creek (0-3, 0-3) on Thursday in CCAA North play.

The Cougars were led by Brielle LeBaron with eight kills and four digs; Kaylee Pattyson had six kills and four aces; and Madison Ring had five kills and five aces.

Leading Silver Creek was Danaceus Maybee with four kills. Tory Cook had 12 assists, while Stevie Cook added three aces and 14 digs.

Cassadaga Valley won the jayvee game.
