The Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West boys basketball All-Star teams were announced this week, with Hunter Wassink earning Player-of-the-Year honors.

The Clymer senior averaged 17 points, 3.6 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game, leading the Pirates to a Section VI Class D title.

Clymer head coach Irv King has been named the league’s Coach of the Year after a nearly perfect 15-1 season, with the lone loss coming by three points to Sherman on March 16.

First-Team selections include Gerald Carris and John Swabik of Sherman, as the Wildcats finished at 13-3 after falling to the Pirates in the Class D final.

Carris averaged 15.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while Swabik averaged 13.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

Tucker Fenton and Drew Kelemen have been named to the First Team for Maple Grove after an 11-4 season.

Kelemen averaged 14.2 points and Fenton 11 points per game for the Red Dragons during their senior and junior years respectively.

Darien Swanson has also been named to the First Team for Westfield, averaging 17.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game during a 7-9 season.

Second-Team choices include Austin White and Bishop Kopta of Clymer, Cameron Crist of Maple Grove, Wyatt Harrington of Cassadaga Valley and Brayden Kneer of Westfield.
