Swanson is medalist; MG wins three
Maple Grove opened the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 golf season with three victories at Moon Brook Country Club on Monday afternoon.
Sparked by Drew Kelemen’s 6-over 42, the Red Dragons downed Jamestown 32-23, Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Sherman 30-25 and Cassadaga Valley 38-17.
The Red Raiders, led by Evan Maloney’s 46, were 2-1 on the day, posting wins over Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Sherman (28-27) and Cassadaga Valley (36-19).
Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Sherman, behind medalist Darien Swanson’s 41, finished 1-2. The Thunderbirds’ win came against Cassadaga Valley (32.5-22.5).
Ace Pierce was the top golfer for the Cougars with a 54.

LAKEWOOD — Southwestern won a pair of matches to begin its boys golf season, topping Falconer (0-2) 39.5-15.5 and Olean 33.5-21.5 at Maplehurst Country Club on Monday.
Olean (1-1) was a 31.5-23.5 winner over Falconer.
Max Vaughn and Griffin Bogdanowicz shared medalist honors for the winners with 39s, Curtis Hannon shot 47 for Falconer and Kamdyn McClain 41 for Olean.

BEMUS POINT — Maple Grove moved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in Division 1 play with a 35-20 win over Jamestown and a 38-17 win over Cassadaga Valley at Bemus Point Golf Club on Tuesaday.
The Red Dragons Ryan Lockwood was the medalist with a 39, while teammate Evan Steffan shot 42 and Gavin Rodgers 46.
Ace Pierce shot a 48 for the Cougars, while Evan Maloney and Tyler Salvaggio carded 46s for Jamestown.
Jamestown topped Cassadaga Valley 32.5-22.5.

Marina Heister led the winners with a 40 to earn medalist honors, while Katie Crawford shot 64.
Juli Spacciapolli carded a 57 for Fredonia.
