T’Birds down Red Dragons in volleyball
Chautauqua Lake moved to 13-1 on the year and 13-1 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association North play with a 25-10, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21 win over Maple Grove (9-4, 9-4) on Tuesday.
Leading the winners were Lily Woodis with nine kills; Ava Olson with eight kills, 15 digs and 12 assists; Hannah Group with seven kills; Mallory Morrison with 10 digs and 15 assists; and Jenna Waters with 28 digs.
Emma Foley had eight kills and six blocks for Maple Grove. Sam Snow added eight kills and 14 digs; Erin Mansfield 18 digs and 19 assists; and Tessa Reed added 16 digs.
WESTFIELD SWEEPS COUGARS
WESTFIELD — Westfield (6-7, 6-7) topped Cassadaga (4-9, 4-9), 25-11, 25-19, 27-25.
Leading the winners were Bianca Seger with six kills, two assists and seven digs; Haleigh Dellow with two aces, eight kills and a dig; Tanleigh Bestine with eight aces, six kills, 13 assists and four digs; and Kerara Kincaid with12 aces, nine kills and a dig.
Leading the Cougars were Kaylee Pattyson with five kills, two aces and three digs; Brielle LeBaron with four kills and three digs; and Abbey DuBois with 14 assists, two kills and one ace.
EAST DIVISION
GOWANDA
GOWANDA — North Collins improved to 10-0 on the year and 10-0 in East Division play with a two-match sweep of Gowanda (9-4, 9-3).
The visitors were 25-18, 25-22 winners in the opener and 25-17, 25-20 winners in the second match.
Makenna Williams finished the day with 35 assists, Deanne Wilson had 20 kills and Michaela Rice added 14 kills for the winners.
