Thunderbirds blank Black Knights 2-0

MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Lake defeated Silver Creek/Forestville 2-0 in Wednesday’s Section VI Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Central Division game in Mayville.
The Thunderbirds were powered by goals from Jada Cole and Emma Lindsey while Erma Wolcott provided the shutout.
Chautauqua Lake is now 3-1-2 overall and 2-1-1 in division play while Silver Creek/Forestville is 2-4-0 overall and 1-3-1 in the division.

FRANKLINVILLE
FRANKLINVILLE — The Frewsburg girls soccer team defeated Franklinville 12-0 in a nonleague game in Franklinville on Wednesday.
The Bears potent offense featured nine different scorers including Tyra Clark with three, Raena Bird with two, Sam Annis, Kendal Sohl, Makenna McBride, Ava Jimerson, Alexandra Hultberg, Addison Hultberg and Kaydan Bush all had one goal. Alexandra Hultberg was a big facilitator with three assists, while Annis and Jimerson both had two helpers. Braelyn Stelmack was in goal for the shutout.
The Bears improved their record to 6-2-0 overall.
ELLICOTTVILLE
BLANKS SALAMANCA
SALAMANCA — Ellicottville defeated Salamanca 6-0 in a East Division girls soccer game on Wednesday in Salamanca.
The Warriors defense had its hands full on Wednesday with Emily Brown making 36 saves in the effort.
Salamanca is now 1-6-0 overall and 0-5-0 in league play while Ellicottville improved to 4-2-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the league.
CARDINALS TOP TIMBERWOLVES
CATTARAUGUS — Randolph held off Cattaraugus-Little Valley 1-0 for a East Division win on Wednesday in Cattaraugus.
The Cardinals scored in the 13th minute with a goal from Aubrey Hogan and managed to hold off the Timberwolves for the shutout victory. Kendall O’Neill was in net for Randolph to secure the shutout.
Randolph improved its record to 4-4-1 overall and 4-1-0 in league.
HUSKIES SHUT OUT TROJANS
WEST ELLICOTT — Olean shut out Southwestern 1-0 in West Division play on Wednesday at Southwestern High School.
The lone goal came from Olean’s Emily Gibbons in the 12th minute and Emma Edwards kept out all the Trojans’ shots for the shutout.
Olean is now 4-2-2 overall and 2-2-2 in division action while Southwestern falls to 1-4-1 overall and 1-3-1 in league.
