Chautauqua Lake is top seed in Class D volleyball
Section VI announced the seeds for the girls volleyball postseason Saturday morning.
Chautauqua Lake is the lone No. 1 seed locally and will wait until next Friday to open its Class D postseason against the winner of No. 9 Clymer/Sherman and No. 8 Cassadaga Valley.
Randolph is the No. 2 seed in Class D and will await the winner of Wednesday’s quarterfinal between No. 10 Pine Valley and No. 7 Ellicottville.
North Collins is the No. 3 seed and will await the winner of No. 11 Westfield and No. 6 Panama.
The final bye in Class D went to No. 4 Maple Grove, which awaits the winner of No. 12 Forestville and No. 5 Holland.
Class D’s semifinals will be played Monday, Nov. 1 with the final Friday, Nov. 5 at Brocton.
In Class C2, Gowanda is the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 Silver Creek in quarterfinal play Friday. No. 4 Falconer will host No. 5 Tapestry and No. 1 Portville will host No. 8 Salamanca. The other quarterfinal is No. 6 Wilson against No. 3 Lafayette. The Class C2 semifinals are also Monday, Nov. 1 with the final Wednesday, Nov. 3 at Brocton.
In Class C1, No. 10 Fredonia will travel to No. 7 Allegany-Limestone for a prequarterfinal Wednesday. No. 5 Southwestern has a bye into the quarterfinals and will travel to No. 4 Eden on Friday. Royalton-Hartland is the No. 1 seed in Class C1. The semifinals are Monday, Nov. 1 and the final is also Wednesday, Nov. 3 at Brocton.
Jamestown is the No. 5 seed in Class AA and will travel to No. 4 Clarence on Friday for a quarterfinal matchup. The winner will visit No. 1 Frontier on Monday, Nov. 1 with the Class AA final set for Friday, Nov. 5 at North Tonawanda.
The remaining No. 1 seeds are Niagara Wheatfield in Class A, Pioneer in Class B1 and Springville in Class B2.
