OLEAN — Southwestern/Jamestown edged Frewsburg/Falconer for the Division 1 title and Panama/Maple Grove/Clymer ran away with the Division 2 crown at the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association girls swimming and diving championships at Olean Middle School this weekend.

Southwestern/Jamestown finished with 347 points in Division 1 to beat Frewsburg/Falconer (316.5), Olean/Portville/Franklinville (314), Fredonia (241) and Allegany-Limestone/Ellicottville (158.5).

In Division 2, Panama/Maple Grove/Clymer finished with 469 points followed by Salamanca (353), Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton (178) and Gowanda/Pine Valley (103).

Olean/Portville/Franklinville’s Alexis Trietley won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.32, which is good for an All-American consideration time.

Trietley’s teammate Megan Jackson qualified for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association championships in the 100-yard freestyle (53.54) and 200-yard freestyle (2:02.56).

On Friday evening, Fredonia’s Elizabeth Pucci-Schaeffer qualified for the state championships in 1-meter diving with 457.65 points to win the Division 1 crown.

Southwestern/Jamestown did not have any individual winners, but Isabella Grijalva was second in both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle while Teagan Shedd was second in the 200-yard individual medley and third in the 100-yard breaststroke. Teammate Morgan Faulk was third in the 200-yard freestyle and Clarissa Hren was third in the 500-yard freestyle.

Frewsburg/Falconer’s top finisher was Cara Pillittierri, who took second in the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle. Ava Palmquist was second in the 100-yard butterfly and third in the 100-yard backstroke while Brianna Rosequist was second in the 100-yard breaststroke.

In addition to winning the 50-yard freestyle, Trietley won the 500-yard freestyle for Olean/Portville/Franklinville. Anna Slavinski added a victory in the 100-yard butterfly (1:10.21).

Tori Spacciapolli was a double winner for fourth-place Fredonia, taking the 200-yard individual medley (2:16.35) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.77). Teammate Abigail Roth was second in the 100-yard backstroke and third in the 200-yard individual medley.

Lauryn Ball won the 100-yard backstroke for fifth-place Allegany-Limestone/Ellicottville.

Cassandra Lyon, Emery Watkins and Evelyn Montagna were all double winners to lead Panama/Maple Grove/Clymer to the Division 2 crown.

Lyon was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle (2:22.29) and 500-yard freestyle (6:21.04); Watkins claimed the 50-yard freestyle (27.19) and 100-yard butterfly (1:10.53); and Montagna captured the 200-yard individual medley (2:36.30) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:17.0).

Desiree Putt also won the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.36) and was second in the 200-yard individual medley for Panama/Maple Grove/Clymer, which also won two relays.

Camryn Quigley won the 100-yard freestyle (1:06.72) and was second in the 50-yard freestyle for second-place Salamanca. Teammate Mikaela Tennity was second in the 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke. Makenzie Crouse was third in both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke while Addison Follman was third in the 100-yard freestyle for the Warriors.

Sophia Gervasio was second in the 200-yard freestyle and third in the 500-yard freestyle for third-place Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton, which won the 400-yard freestyle relay. Rylee Buxton finished second in the 100-yard backstroke and Lydia Kushmaul was third in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Sophia Jones was third in the 200-yard freestyle for Gowanda/Pine Valley.
