Randolph holds off Pine Valley 6-4

GOWANDA — A three-run fifth inning gave Randolph a 5-0 lead and the Cardinals held off Pine Valley in the seventh inning for a 6-4 nonleague victory.

Luke Pagett went 3 for 4 with a double and a triple; Payton Slade had two hits, including a triple; and Elial Bryan, Dillon Schrader and Kyle Senn also doubled for the Cardinals (1-0).

Tristan Farnham allowed seven hits and four runs while striking out three before Schrader got the final out with a strikeout for the winners.

Donovan Gugliemi had three hits, including a double, and Jaiden Miller doubled for the Panthers (2-1).

Bryce Sercu and Wayne Libby combined for four strikeouts on the mound in the loss.
