Section VI baseball playoffs begin today

Clymer/Sherman/Panama and Portville have secured the No. 1 seeds in their respective classifications heading into the Section VI baseball playoffs, which begin today.
The announcements were made Saturday.
The Wolfpack are the top seed in Class D, while the Panthers are the top seed in Class C.
Following are the seedings for the remaining area teams: Southwestern (Class B2), Gowanda (Class C) and Franklinville (Class D), No. 2; Maple Grove (Class C) and Pine Valley (Class D), No. 3; Ellicottville (Class D) and Fredonia (Class B2), No. 4; Olean (Class B1), Silver Creek (Class C) and Brocton (Class D), No. 5; Jamestown (Class AA), Salamanca (Class C) and North Collins (Class D), No. 6; Frewsburg (Class C) and Westfield (Class D), No. 7; Chautauqua Lake (Class C), No. 8; Dunkirk (Class B1), No. 9; Cattaraugus-Little Valley (Class C), No. 10; Cassadaga Valley (Class C), No. 12; and Randolph (Class C), No. 13.
The other No. 1 seeds in the playoffs are Lancaster (Class AA); Williamsville East (Class A1); Iroquois (Class A2); City Honors (Class B1); and Alden (Class B2).

Prequarterfinals are scheduled for today, quarterfinals are Tuesday, semifinals are Thursday and the championship games are Saturday.
