Hillbillies blank rival Marauders 4-0
Fredonia scored twice in each half and went on to the 4-0 victory over Dunkirk in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division boys soccer action at Karl Hoeppner Field.
Sam Murphy and Sal Tabone each scored two goals for the Hillbillies (7-3-1, 4-2-0), who totaled 22 shots on goal. Andrew Cowan was in goal for the shutout.
Fredonia plays host to Jamestown today at 5:15 p.m. at Fredonia High School. The game was originally scheduled for Sept. 26 but was postponed because of the weather. Dunkirk plays Olean on Friday.
MOORE LEADS MG TO WIN
BEMUS POINT — Eli Moore potted two goals as Maple Grove (8-2-1, 6-0-0) cruised past Westfield/Brocton (4-6-0, 3-3-0) 5-0 for a Central Division victory on Wednesday.
Fletcher Demink, Jonah Foley and Steven Whitman also found the back in the victory. Both Drew Oste and Foley helped set up two goals and Moore assisted one.
CARDS DOMINATE PANTHERS
SOUTH DAYTON — Cooper Freeman and Brendan Good both scored twice each as Randolph (9-3-0, 5-2-0) defeated Gowanda/Pine Valley (1-9-0, 1-6-0) 6-0 in East Division action.
Griffin Nelson and Mathurin Griffith also potted goals in the first half. Drew Hind collected two assists, Nelson, Freeman and Ryder Smith all had one each.
‘BLACK KNIGHTS TOP EAGLES
SILVER CREEK — Alex Procknal netted two goals as Silver Creek/Forestville (4-5-0, 1-4-0) shut out North Collins (2-5-1, 1-5-0) 2-0 in Central Division action.
Procknal’s first tally came in the final minute of the first half with an assist from Wyatt Golembieski and then he scored again unassisted in the 55th minute.
WARWOLVES SHUT OUT BY PORTVILLE
SALAMANCA — Portville (8-3-1, 5-1-1) scored four second half goals to get past Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley 4-0 in East Division action.
Cole Faulkner, Joe Randolph, Bryan Randolph and Chris Austin all scored in an 11 minute span from the 57th minute to the 68th minute to beat the WarWolves (0-11-0, 0-7-0).
YOUNG NETS 4 FOR TROJANS
WEST ELLICOTT — Connor Young scored four times as Southwestern (9-3-0, 6-1-0) stormed past Olean 5-1 in a West Division game.
Young opened the scoring in the first minute and scored his fourth goal in the 71st to give the Trojans at 4-1 lead. Nolan Froah added a final goal in the 77th minute to deliver the 5-1 victory.
Olean’s (0-11-0, 0-6-0) lone tally came courtesy of Quintin Allen.
RED RAIDERS FALL TO GATORS
ALLEGANY — Allegany-Limestone scored a dozen times as it shut out Jamestown (3-7-0, 2-4-0) for a West Division win.
Eric Spring stood out for the Gators (9-3-0, 7-0-0) with three goals and two assists.
