Strong local finishes at East Aurora Invitational

EAST AURORA — The Lewis siblings shined for the Southwestern Trojans cross country teams with top three finishes at the East Aurora Invitational on Saturday. Nate Lewis took second place out of the small school runners with a time of 16:18.80 and helped the Trojans to a second place finish. Emma Lewis finished third among the large school girl’s runners with a time of 18:07.20 and helped Southwestern to a 12th place finish among the large schools.

Helping Southwestern to a second place small school boys finish was Trey Faulk with the sixth best time at 16:43.93, Donavin Brown was 10th at 16:57.50, Lukas Svenson was 28th at 17:45.28 and Sam Kautzman was 34th at 17:59.10.

Finishing behind the Southwestern boys was Frewsburg in fourth, Fredonia/Westfield in seventh, Gowanda took 10th and Silver Creek/Forestville earned 18th out of 25 small school teams.

The Bears were led by Cody Kent in ninth place with a time of 16:57.17, Xander Pitts was 16th at 17:05.81, Juvenal Diaz placed 18th at 17:12.36, Micah Barber earned 19th at 17.19.55 and Daniel Peterson took 48th at 18:36.62.

Fredonia/Westfield had three boys in the top 50 with Trenton Krenzer taking 25th at 17:39.75, Adam Lesch placed 26th at 17:41.63 and Cameron Patternosh took 37th at 18:06.17.

Gowanda’s top runners were Drew Shull in 43rd at 18:27.73 and Chase Bolen at 50th with a time of 18:37.17.

Silver Creek/Forestville’s top finisher was Logan Perryman in 49th at 18:36.77.

The top finisher for small school girls was Allegany-Limestone’s Angelina Napoleon with a time of 16:59.20. Napoleon was joined by Salamanca’s Ryanna Brady in the top 10, earning eighth place with a time of 19:46.05.

As a team the Gowanda girls took 11th place while Fredonia/Westfield earned 12th out of 17 teams.

Gowanda was led by Autumn Pupo in 20th place at 21:06.09 and Calie Hudson earned 33rd at 21:32.61.

Fredonia/Westfield’s top finisher was Alana Cook in 41st with a time of 21:59.82.

Also making the top 50 for the small school girls was Emily Bowers from Silver Creek/Forestville after she posted a time of 22:11.53 for 46th place.
