Bears shut out Wolverines 6-0

FREWSBURG — Kaydan Bush netted a hat trick as Frewsburg shut out Westfield/Brocton 6-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West girls soccer Tuesday.

Bush scored from Taytum Jimerson and Alexandra Hultberg as the Bears (14-0-0, 9-0-0) took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

After the break, Bush completed her hat trick from Aleah Bjork in the 44th minute. Hultberg then scored from Ava Jimerson, Ashlyn Samuelson scored from Bush, and Audrey Eckwahl scored from Hultberg.

Braelyn Stelmack made two saves in net for Frewsburg.

The Wolverines fell to 6-7-0 overall and 4-4-0 in the league.

EAGLES SURVIVE

CATTARAUGUS — Ellicottville scored two second-half goals to rally past Cattaraugus-Little Valley for a 2-1 East Division victory.

Audrey Hurlburt scored from Ryan Quinn in the 50th minute and the 63rd minute for the Eagles (9-6-0, 9-2-0). Abby Chudy made 10 saves in net for Ellicottville.

The Timberwolves fell to 6-7-0 overall and 4-7-0 in the league.

GOLDEN COUGARS ROLL

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley scored eight first-half goals en route to a 9-0 Division 1 West win over Dunkirk.

Eight different players scored for the Golden Cougars (7-6-1, 5-5-1), led by Kayla Lynn with a pair of goals. Eliza Andersen, Emiley Anderson, Julianna Roth, Michaela Olson, Andrea Johnson, Emelia Powell and Brailyn Paladino also scored.

Lynn, Anderson, Paladino, Bailey Olson, Abigail Sweeney, Katelyn Hagstrom and Ellyson Baglia each had an assist to support Baglia and Brynn Helms, who combined for three saves in net.

The Marauders fell to 3-12-0 overall and 0-11-0 in the league.

PORTVILLE CLINCHES TITLE

SALAMANCA — Five different girls scored for Portville in a 5-0 shutout of Salamanca to wrap up the East Division title.

Olivia Dean, Grace Gariepy, Gianna Aloi, Teagan Kosinski and Jessica Daley each scored a goal; Meghan Lyle had three assists; and Leah Faulkner had one assist for the Panthers (12-2-1, 11-0-0). Mackenzie Harmon made two saves in net.

The Warriors fell to 7-8-0 overall and 5-7-0 in the league.

T’BIRDS PULL AWAY

NORTH COLLINS — Jada Cole and Megan Blakeslee scored second-half goals to send Chautauqua Lake past North Collins 2-0 in Division 2 West action.

Cole scored from Savannah Horvath in the 44th minute and Blakeslee put the game away from Taylor Donato in the 77th minute. Lucille Gates made five saves for the Thunderbirds (8-2-1, 6-2-1).

The Eagles fell to 5-6-2 overall and 3-4-2 in the league.

BIG WIN FOR CARDINALS

RANDOLPH — Kyra Pence netted a hat trick to lead Randolph past Pine Valley/Gowanda 8-0 in the East Division.

Gianna Bowles scored twice and Quinn Pence scored once in a 3-0 first half for the Cardinals (9-4-0, 8-3-0). After the break, Kyra Pence scored all three of her goals while Sara Smith and Alaina Bunker also tallied goals.

Quinn Pence had four assists, Kyra Pence had two assists and Sara Smith had one assist for Randolph. Stella Smith made five saves in net.

The Panthers fell to 2-13-0 overall and 2-9-0 in the league.

SEASTRUM POWERS RED DRAGONS

BEMUS POINT — Madilyn Seastrum scored twice in the first half as Maple Grove beat Silver Creek/Forestville 4-0 in Division 2 West action.

Ashley Schrecengost scored from Alex Caldwell in the first minute before Seastrum scored from Alex Caldwell in the seventh minute. In the 38th minute, Seastrum scored from Morgan Caldwell.

In the 73rd minute, Madeleine Wadsworth scored from Emma Reagle for the Red Dragons (2-9-1, 2-5-1).

Megan McGee made four saves in the clean sheet.

The Black Knights fell to 0-13-1 overall and 0-9-0 in the league.

MIMS NETS WINNER

JAMESTOWN — Karryne Mims scored from Ella Propheter in the second half to send Jamestown to a 1-0 shutout of Olean in Division 1 West play at Strider Field.

Morgan Maloney made 12 saves in net for the Red Raiders (11-4-0, 8-4-0).

The Huskies fell to 8-6-1 overall and 6-5-0 in the league.
