Gondek powers Fredonia to victory

SINCLAIRVILLE — Annie Gondek scored a goal in each half as Fredonia blanked Falconer/Cassadaga Valley 2-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 West girls soccer action Saturday.

Gondek scored from Sophia Gullo in the 25th minute and from Rylee Beers in the 68th minute for the Hillbillies (6-4-0, 4-3-0).

Sarah Davis made four saves in the clean sheet.

The Golden Cougars fell to 5-5-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the league.

PENCE NETS HAT TRICK

RANDOLPH — Kyra Pence took over in the second half as Randolph beat Cattaraugus-Little Valley 4-1 in the East Division.

After a scoreless first half, Gianna Bowles put the Cardinals (7-3-0, 6-2-0) on the board in the third minute of the second half.

Pence then put the game away with three straight goals for Randolph, the first two from Bowles and the final one from Katelyn Storer.

Olivia Seiflein scored the lone goal in the final minute for the Timberwolves (5-5-0, 3-5-0).

Onalee Osgood was credited with 22 saves for Cattaraugus-Little Valley and Stella Smith made four for the Cardinals.

WARRIORS EDGE PANTHERS

SALAMANCA — Salamanca scored a pair of early second-half goals and hung on for a 2-1 East Division win over Pine Valley/Gowanda.

Aubrey Hogan scored from Mariah Downey in the 51st minute and Madisyn Lafferty scored from Downey in the 69th minute for the Warriors (6-5-0, 4-4-0).

Sarah Kruszka scored in the 70th minute for the Panthers (1-10-0, 1-6-0).

Destiny Lindquist made 12 saves for Pine Valley/Gowanda and Shea Monahan made 13 saves for Salamanca.

KACZANOWSKI NETS OT WINNER

NORTH COLLINS — Breanna Kaczanowski scored from Hailey Jasinski in the 12th minute of overtime as North Collins beat nonleague Eden 1-0.

Jasinski and Meadow Mitchell combined for seven saves in net for the Eagles (3-4-2, 2-2-2 CCAA D2 West) while Sara Bogue made seven saves for the Raiders.

RIVERA RECORDS HAT TRICK

JAMESTOWN — Noah Rivera had three goals and an assist to lead Jamestown to a 6-3 nonleague victory over Gowanda/Pine Valley.

Rivera scored from Noah Burch just over two minutes into the game and Burch scored from Lincoln Carpenter less than 40 seconds later for the Red Raiders (4-8-0, 2-5-0 CCAA West Division).

Darwin Westlund then scored for the Panthers, but Jamestown made it 6-1 on four consecutive goals over the next seven-plus minutes. Andres Pacheco scored from Rivera, Carpenter scored, Rivera scored from Burch and Rivera scored again from Carpenter.

Westlund ended the Red Raiders’ run with a goal from Noah Frontuto and Frontuto scored late for Pine Valley/Gowanda (1-11-0, 1-6-0 CCAA East Division).
