SHERIDAN — HAZMAT crews were called to a tractor trailer fire on the Interstate 90 in the town of Sheridan this morning.

Fredonia firefighters were called to the westbound lane of I-90, between exits 58 and 59, around 10 a.m. for the trailer fire after a truck’s brakes caught fire. Shortly thereafter, county hazardous materials crews were summoned.

It wasn’t immediately clear what the truck was carrying.

The state Thruway “TransAlert” system said the right lane on the westbound side is closed to traffic. The New York State Police also responded.
