ROOF TORN OFF BUILDING IN CITY OF DUNKIRK
The warehouse at the southwest corner of West Talcott Street and Franklin Avenue in the city of Dunkirk had its roof torn off by high winds Sunday.
Police and emergency crews responded to the call that came in around 3 p.m. According to an officer on the scene, the high winds took the roof off, snapping power poles and taking down lines as it went.
There were no individuals at the property and National Grid is on site as a transformer was taken down along with the debris.
The area from West Courtney Street to West Talcott Street has been blocked off to through traffic due to the active electrical lines.
