‘Manchester by the Sea’ to be shown at Reg Lenna

JAMESTOWN — The Oscar nominated film “Manchester by the Sea” shows Wednesday, March 1 at 7 p.m. at Reg Lenna Center for The Arts. The film is nominated for Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director (Kenneth Lonergan) Best Actor (Casey Affleck), Best Supporting Actress (Michelle Williams) and Best Supporting Actor (Lucas Hedges).

In “Manchester by the Sea,” the latest film from award-winning writer and director Lonergan, the life of a solitary Boston janitor is transformed when he returns to his hometown to take care of his teenage nephew. The story of the Chandlers, a working-class family living in a Massachusetts fishing village for generations, “Manchester by the Sea” is a deeply poignant, unexpectedly funny exploration of the power of familial love, community, sacrifice and hope. “Manchester by the Sea” is rated R and is 137 minutes long.

Coming up in the Movies @ The Reg series are Best Picture nominee “Hidden Figures” on March 18 at 8 p.m. and the animated feature, “Sing” showing March 24 at 7 p.m. and as a Sensory Friendly screening March 25 at 2 p.m.
