For 56 years, the Fredonia Central School Education Assistance Fund has provided scholarship awards to Fredonia High School graduates. This year, the group is proud to announce three more recipients of this scholarship. Jacob Lesswing will be attending SUNY Brockport in the fall as a business administration major. Sydney Swan has chosen to attend St. John Fisher as a nursing or biology major. Kaelyn Hadley is staying locally and attending the State University of New York at Fredonia. She will be studying theatrical production and design. She is the recipient of the Celia Beckman Award.

The selection committee meets with and considers each applicant carefully. Committee members assess the recipients’ goals, academic performance, and participation in extracurricular activities, community service, financial need and work experience. Recipients can attend a two- or four-year college, business or vocational school.

To donate to this scholarship, send a contribution to the Northern Chautauqua County Community Foundation. The initials F.C.S.E.A.F must appear in the memo section of the check in order to assure the donation is credited to this scholarship account. The address is 212 Lakeshore Drive West, Dunkirk, New York 14048. All donations received are used solely for the scholarship awards.
